Name: Ben Brown
Location: Weston, Nova Scotia, Canada
Number: 19
Quad: 2005 Yamaha YFZ 450
Racing Experience: 3 Years
About Me:
I’m 21 years old and I am a T-5 paraplegic. I am completely driven and very motivated; I don’t let my disability limit me on the track. I love to ride, and race atvs that’s all I pretty much think about. I was injured while training for a motocross race on August 20th, 2006. When I was diagnosed my 1st 2 questions for the doctor was when am I going to walk and when I am going to race. On June 17th, 2007 I rode my Yamaha YFZ 450. It was less than 10 months after my accident. I have Yamaha YFZ 450 that is fully adapted for me to ride. I ride 2-3 or 3-5 times a week according to weather for about an hour and a half to 2 hours each time on my practice track mostly. I play wheelchair basketball 3-4 times a week and I work out at the gym lifting weights 3-4 times a week.
Why is sponsorship important to you?
Sponsorship is important to me because it allows me to be more competitive on the track. Using your products will help me qualify and score the best result I can. I will promote companies and local businesses to get more customers and for exposure. Since I had to adapt my YFZ 450 for me to ride I am currently riding stock suspension and have pushed myself hard as I possibly can on it.
What are you going to provide your sponsors?
I will mention you on any racing forum and any interview for magazines and websites. I keep my quad very maintained and clean will place plenty of sponsor stickers on my quad, truck, toolbox and wheelchair. If you have banners I will have them up in my pit area. I will tell my friends about how good your product is and why they should deal with you. Wear a company tee shirt if your company sells them. I will keep a positive attitude no matter how good or bad I finish.
